Vintage Otari MX5050 MKIII-8 Multitrack Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder POWER TESTED The item up for sale is not tested for functionality as we do not have the capability to test; Unit has been inspected and the results are as follows. The item is in C) Used, Good cosmetic condition. For cosmetic condition, please refer to the Product Grading System - Below. Minor Scuffs & Scratches from normal use. The Item has noticeable Dirt & Debris (SEE PICTURES). The Item has noticeable Scuffs, Scratches, & Paint Loss from normal use (SEE PICTURES). The Item has noticeable Dents & Gashes (SEE PICTURES). All Ports & Connectors appears to be in Good Cosmetic Condition (SEE PICTURES). All Buttons, Knobs, Levers, Rollers, Switches, & Wheels have noticeable Scuffs & Scratches (SEE PICTURES). The Tape Heads are noticeably worn (SEE PICTURES). All Lights & Meters have noticeable Scuffs & Scratches (SEE PICTURES). Some of the Back Panel Switches are out of place (SEE PICTURES). The Polyurethane Wheel of the Pinch Roller is missing (SEE PICTURES). I was able to Power On Item via an Inhouse Power Supply. I was able to manipulate all Buttons, Knobs, Levers, Rollers, Switches, & Wheels with ease. I was able to adjust all VU Meters. I was able to test Memory Reset Function. All Lights & Meters appear to be Functioning. I was unable to test any Ports or Connectors. I was unable to test any Tape Functions. I was unable to adjust any Levels, or Settings. I was unable to test Audio Signal or Quality. The Reels come to a sudden stop with in motion. The Item makes a noticeable Grinding Sound when the Tape Recorder is engaged. This Item is Power Tested ONLY. I was unable to perform any further tests due to a lack of Resources/Knowledge. The Item is being sold for repair, refurbishment or reuse by the buyer. It is not intended for recycling or disposal.
