Original Vintage Otari MX5050 1/4" two track, analog reel-to-reel recorder in working condition. I had this serviced two years ago and brought back to good working condition. The deck was: - calibrated to +3 tape - the tape path was calibrated and all rolling pieces lubricated - the XLR socket pin-outs were changed from the unusual pin configuration Otari used at the time to a standard XLR cable configuration, a convenient upgrade It is now fully operational but as with any reel to reel deck, having the tape calibrated by a technician is to be expected for optimal performance. I've since upgraded to an Ampex ATR102 machine and am now parting with my Otari MX5050. Cosmetically it is in good shape for its age. Refer to photos for condition. There is a threading sticker on the front as reminder for how to wind the reel of tape, but can be easily removed if desired. Also note that there are some knicks in the corners of the wood panel, all clearly photographed. All in all it is in great physical shape for its age. Personally I prefer this steel / wood color combo from the early Otaris to the look of the later black models. This will ship with the original Otari locking reel clamps, which alone fetch around $200. This will not ship with any metal reels. The pictures are for illustration and are only to demonstrate record and playback functionality. Thanks for looking and good luck!
