Vintage 3” William Dingley Thistle “Perfect”Fly Reel. Made for

Beautiful, rare and highly sought after William (Walter) Dingley made "Perfect style" reel, made for retailer Alex Martin in Scotland. c1930s.
3" diameter with a 11/16" wide spool. Weighs 7.8oz. Bronze line guide. Original leaded finish almost entirely remains and is much darker in person due to lighting from camera.
Marked "Thistle" and also has Alex Martin's retail stamping.
This reel has all the features of the early Dingleys, with concentric rings on the spool face. Bright finished insides with the famous "D" stampings, and pin style pawl and spring posts.
RHW with a loud, strong adjustable drag check with knurled nickel adj knob.
Unmolested full length brass reel foot. Ebonite handle.
Reel is marked with a "1" or a single “Dot”assembly mark on all parts, including the foot.
Very little use shows on this reel.
Overall an amazing example of the former Hardy master machinist's work.
