Up for sale is a TEAC A-6100 4 track reel to reel in very good condition.
Aside from the damaged corners on the wood panels, the face has cleaned up exceptionally well. I pulled off just about everything I could to clean/polish to is current condition. That also included cleaning/polishing the entire tape path.
I’ve replaced the belts with new units and cleaned the sticky lube off the pinch roller linkage. The actual pinch roller tire is still somewhat soft but it will need replacing in the future.
It plays great but I wasn’t able to mess with the record settings, just 2/4 channel playback.
It comes with the original TEAC NAD hub adapters for 10” reels but the deck will play 7” reels as well.
As it sits, this deck will need to be given further service work in order to be a reliable recording/playback deck. I serviced the pinch roller linkage to verify that the unit would actually play after sitting in storage for 25+ years. It certainly plays but is far from turnkey.
