Vintage 1970 TEAC A-4010S REEL TO REEL TAPE DECK Tested for Power. Since these are 50 years old, you can assume the belts will need to be replaced. This particular unit does not have a power cord (I actually used an old Electrolux vacuum cord to test it). The knobs on the reels are dry rotted (thats what I have taped to the top of the unit). Cosmetically the unit is in very nice condition. There are lots of YouTube tutorials on replacing the belt and lubing up the mechanics. Please note: none of my knobs or levers are seized up (I understand that’s an issue with some of these). As you can see the unit does power up. A fully restored unit sells for over $500, so I’m asking 1/2 that. Maybe you’ll get lucky and not need to do anything other than replace the power cord and reel knobs. Even if you have to do some work, you could double your money with a little elbow grease.
