Super rare 1960's Sony TC-500A tube stereo reel to reel with his own speakers. Condition - extra clean for being 60 years old and complete. Only one screw in the back is missing. SERVICED - including full strip down, spinning gear removal, clean up, sewing machine oil lube for each shaft, old dried up brownish grease removal/clean up and new white lithium grease lube, head clean up and demagnetizing, auto stop level disassembly, free up and lube, all potentiometer deox. Original power cable has a split where wires can be seen but it does not affect the power supply. Wires are shielded. Being tested for playback - picture#2 Head shot - picture#3 Being apart, old/new grease - pictures#4/5/6 Tubes, one side only - picture#7 Performance - powers up, plays through both left and right speakers, FF/REW works, both tape speeds works, sound is clear and crisp. Tube player crisp. THINGS TO KNOW - due to this thing being from tube deck time there is one motor doing all the work which is a playback, FF/REW. The motor location is on a right side of a deck or a play side. There is only one brake on this deck and the brake is on a right reel table. During the playback if stop command is performed the left reel will do light tape sag, no brake on left reel table side. During the FF if stop is engaged helping hand is in need to stop the left reel. left reel table needs to be slowed down by hand. REW does not have any tape spilling issues but it's slower than FF because the motion for left side reel is transferred by thee pulleys from the right.
