Sony Stereo Tapecorder TC-255 Reel To Reel Vintage Japan Powers On *FOR

Vintage Sony Stereo Tapecorder TC-255 Reel To Reel Japan SOLD AS IS  BEING SOLD FOR PARTS The Sony TC-255 power light does come on when plugged in and on switch flipped however when the FF or Rewind switch is flipped the things that hold the reels do not move. When either of the red Record buttons are pressed the red lights above the buttons also come on. The only test I was able to perform was plugging it up and pressing switches or buttons so a ny other function on the Sony TC-55 is NOT GUARANTEED to work any further. I do not know if the T apecorder will record. I do not know if any inputs are good. I do not know if any buttons, switches or volume knobs work in any way. I do not know if Tapecorder will make any sound through speaker (if that even is a speaker on back??), I do not know if it will perform any other function at all and because the things that hold the reels do not work it is a possibility other parts of the Tapecorder may not work as well. Because of all these reasons the Sony TC-255 Tapecorder is SOLD AS IS for parts and there will be no returns. The silver piece in picture # 6 that has the words SONY STEREO TAPECORDER on it and slides off to expose the parts that the tape runs through (I believe?) has one broken input side as shown in picture #7. Previous owner has put tape around it to hold together and part still slides on an off, but I do not know if the screws will hold it in place like it is originally supposed to. Cord has some stick residue and will need to be cleaned. Please view all photos for visual condition.
