Technics RS 1700 Reel to Reel Deck w/Original Reels & Hubs Up f or sale is a working Technics RS 1700, the flagship of the Technics RTR line. The features include automatic reverse operation, a 6-head system, 2-tape tension controlled DC brushless direct drive motor, photo electronic auto-stop sensing, tension roller switches and take-up reel table servo control system. The a uto stop and reverse work, as does the tape counter. The tape heads (all six!) look to be in great condition (see photos) and were cleaned and demagnetized prior to listing. The deck has super smooth and quiet braking due to the logic controlled electro-brake which slows the tape down to almost a stop by applying a reverse torque to the supply reel motor, before applying the mechanical brake. This results in better safety and longer life for both the mechanism and tape.
