Pioneer RT-707 Reel to Reel tape recorder (take-up reel IS included in sale). I need to make space in my collection and as one of the larger items it's time to wave farewell to my beloved Pioneer. This machine was serviced around 2015 so needs a service again to bring it back to tip-top shape. All the transport controls work as they should, and the tape auto-stops at the end of playback, fast forward and rewind. Auto-reverse works as designed, with tapes that have the silver foil in their leader tape. Tape counter, speed selection, tape monitor and all buttons function as they should. Full disclosure: The main issue that this has is when playing a tape from the start, the tape will slip off the pinch roller. I think this is due to needing new pinch rollers and once the tape is a minute or so in, it’s not an issue. Cosmetically the brushed aluminum face has some scuffs and small dings but is in generally good shape with only small parts of the silk-screened legend missing through use. The black-painted case shows its age but nothing too bad. This unit does not have rubber feet as it has been rack-mounted in my home studio. Please refer to the photographs and feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. If you would like specific photos or even a video let me know I’ll be happy to oblige. Local pickup preferred but will ship. If shipping I’ll do everything in my power to package the unit as I would expect it to be packed if I were purchasing.
