Here is an Otari MX5050 BQ II 4-Track Reel to Reel in near mint condition.
I recently got it serviced with Benny Amina at Modular Electronics in Atlanta, GA. He's fixed any single vintage electronic I've ever owned. He's that good.
- XLR's in the back are now wired correctly (these were known to be wired in reverse i.e unbalanced)
- Degaussed & Aligned to ATR master tape.
- Updated Capacitors
I've owned the unit for years but only ever used it for effects (slap back delay, pitching things up, etc.) Thus far, it has always sounded incredible. If pushed, you get that gnarly tape saturation that people love. These were marketed as semi-pro decks for home use back in the early 80's and I gotta say, they really did build stuff well back then. This thing is solid, heavy, beautiful-looking but most of all, sounds great.

Built-in auto-locator, built-in test oscillator and external oscillator input, Pitch Control, SEL+REP (Overdubs), Memory function (return to zero), and many more.
Playback at 7.5 & 15 IPS
The best part is it will be shipped in its own custom-built Viking
