Up for sale is a used Akai model M-9 reel to reel tape deck which has been serviced and tested for all functions. This deck is in very good condition and I have cleaned and oiled the wood case. The case is in very nice condition and the only flaw is a missing piece of wood on the bottom right corner (see picture). The front panel and all the knobs and levers are in excellent condition. I have disassembled the deck and all components have been cleaned inside. I have replaced both of the belts with new ones. I also have replaced the motor run capacitors as the motor was not running at the correct speed and was slowing down as it ran. This corrected the motor running problem and I have run this for about 3 hours to confirm that it is now okay. Both of the speakers were damaged around the edges so I have installed new foams on them as you can see in the picture and the speakers now sound excellent. I have also resurfaced the pinch roller as the surface had slightly hardened. Both VU meters are working perfectly, and the lamps in both meters are good. I have output the deck to my amp to check the line out and it plays perfectly. I also hooked up and recorded to a blank reel to make sure that it records, and it does. Included with the deck is the capstan that you need for the different speeds, a copy of the owner's manual and a blank reel. The video of the deck playing is with the internal amplifier and speakers.
