akai gx-747 reel to reel, not working properly - selling for parts, or

Reels are not included in listing - only used for perspective.  However, the hub adapters are included in this listing.  All features appear to function, but some not properly.  Playback and record heads work well.  The songs in the demo were previously recorded from my vinyl onto a Maxell UD tape using this machine.  Reel motors, and capstan work well, but reels take too long to brake, On power-up diverters take 3-5 times of resetting before they set.  Once the diverters are set they work well.  Cosmetic damage to the face and wooden sides.  The right hinge is broken, but held together with super glue.  So far the glue has held - the door opens and closes properly. However, the hinge should be replaced.  Various scuff marks and nicks on the head cover.
I have too many tape decks, that's why I'm selling this one rather than storing it.
This would make a great repair project, or parts machine.  I will double box for shipping so please allow 3-4 days processing time after payment has cleared.   Typically shipping supplies for these heavy decks run $40-$50 for boxes and polar board packing, plus delivery service fee.
