I believe this is an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5001C. The decals are gone. You can clearly see where the 5001c decal would have been.
It was made in Sweden. It dates to 1972. The bottom of the foot has the 057200 serial number. The original owner engraved his identification information on the bottom of the foot.
It seems to work great. As with any vintage reel, it would probably benefit from a proper servicing.
It's black...I think. It almost looks purple, but I think it's just a faded black. Don't buy it hoping it's purple. Don't be upset if it is. But I'm pretty sure it's black...probably.
