ABU GARCIA 45/55/6500 CERAMIC HYBRID speed bearing ABU 20639 +1

!!!BACK IN STOCK!! Here is an easy to install upgrade for any ABU or AKIOS  level wind reel with a brass bushing in the left side plate- my speed bearing upgrade. The bushing this replaces is ABU 20639. It literally fits 100 models between 4500 and 6501 left and right hand Pro Rockets. This allows the nylon gear on the end of the spool to run freely on the inner race of a precision stainless steel ball bearing. The upgrade consists of a machined brass bushing and a ceramic hybrid BICA ABEC 5 ball bearing- there is a significant reduction in friction and increase in free spool when compared to the plastic on brass original design. The bearing is a stainless steel race with stainless metal shields and ceramic roller balls. The metal shields protect the bearings from dirt and contamination without dragging on the inner race. The bearings come to me dry but I oil them with Rocket Oil yellow label. The bearing is an SMR103C-ZZ#5 My speed bearings are made using custom machined bushings that allow the bearing to spin freely while still supporting the spool axle. This will work on any ABU or AKIOS with a bushing in the side plate. If you have a CT reel with a clicker this is also a good option, but it was originally something we came up with for level wind reels.This is my most popular way to add a bearing to your reel that really improves performance. You do not even have to dissasmle your reel to install this-just unscrew your left spool tension cap-remove existing bushing-install bearing-install bushing concave side in-reinstall tension cap! That easy! This is easy to install and you do not have to remove the side plate to fit this. This listing is for ONE bushing/bearing set to replace the 20639 bushing. The 20639 bushing is shown as a reference and is not included. The side plates are for reference purposes to see what it looks like installed and they are not included in the listing (seriously I have to say that.....I wish I did not have to-) These bearings are custom machined in the USA  by Reel Kustom Reels in Fredericksburg, VA and the bearings are top quality BOCA bearings. This will fit all ABU reels with a spool tension control cap on the non handle side (left or right hand retrieve) and an ultracast spool. The bushing has a flat side and a concave side-the concave side goes toward the bearing- it is concave so that the inner race of the bearing can spin freely. You CAN install it backward-and it will work-but not as good as if you install it the right way. If you have ANY install issues please contact me I can help you. The bearings are ceramic and they are shipped oiled. I do not recommend running any bearing dry or without lubrication. I order them dry from BOCA and use my oil to lubricate them.If you are not sure this fits or you dont think you can install it-please ask before you buy. If your reel does NOT have a tension cap and brass bushing in the non handle side this will not fit. If you have a CT reel with a speed bullet and no clicker this is useless. This is a custom fit part- if you break it,scratch it or install it I cannot take a return. I have had customers damage a part then return it to me claiming it was defective. If you cannot handle installing this, you can send ot to me for free installation. IF you damage it-I cannot replace it. I can try to repair it at your cost. Its common sense- and I would gladly install it for you to make sure your reel is perfect. Dropping it or breaking a stud off does not make it defective. I should not even have to put this in the listing, however, I have been burned by ebay not understanding what this is. I would rather give you my time to install it than get robbed ...If you ship your reel to me for installation shipping will be extra to cover shipping the reel back
These are custom machined on a made to order basis. When you order them, I make them. I do not make them until they are sold but I have the bearings in stock.
