1988 Mitchell 400 Spinning Reel with Box, Sleeve and Extra Spool

Mitchell 400 spinning reel, manufactured in France in 1988, serial number T-5-01 stamped on the foot. Comes in Mitchell Sports green box with hard to find printed Mitchell 400 sleeve and extra graphite spool.
The revised Mitchell 400 was launched in 1985 and replaced the 300C and 410A which were both retired that year, The new model was finished in black with gold decals and printing, has a 4.9:1 fast retrieve and roller bearings around the main gear only. It was manufactured in small quantities in France until 1988.

This reel has been used, and the paintwork has some slight rubbing on the edges of the housing, but otherwise is very clean (see pictures). The reel is fully functioning with a smooth retrieve and working anti-reverse. The chrome is shiny and the bail spring is strong and flips over with a solid click. The box sleeve has some shelf wear and is solid and complete.
This is a very good condition, fully functioning, 35 year old reel, in it's original box, with the hard to find in any condition printed sleeve, to fish with or add to a collection.
